Join us tonight Friday, March 26th.  Tonight we will be talking with Richard Shaw, Secretary Treasurer of the Harris County AFL-CIO Central Labor Council.

We will also have Jim Klatt, Midwest Regional Coordinator for the Union Sportsmen’s Alliancelocated in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He joined the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership in 2004 after retiring from his marketing and advertising agency business in Minneapolis. He worked as a grassroots organizer for TRCP conservation programs across the country and helped launch the cooperative efforts between TRCP and Labor Unions that eventually lead to the formation of the USA.

Jim has been a conservation leader for many years both in Minnesota and around the country. He helped found the Minnesota Outdoor Heritage Alliance in 1994 and was president for 8 years. MOHA was instrumental in passing two landmark constitutional amendments in Minnesota. The first, in 1998, guarantees the right to hunt, fish and trap in the state, and the second, in 2009, dedicates a percentage of the state sales tax to conservation. In 2008 he was selected as Conservation Person of the Year in Minnesota.

He is a graduate of Michigan State University and spent many years working in communications, from editing national magazines, to directing communications and recruitment for Peace Corps and VISTA. He has hung his, hat, and hunted and fished, in British Columbia, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Washington, Missouri and New York.
