Tonight our guest will be Beverly Beavers-Lyle, the Regional Administrator for the Women’s Bureau with the U. S. Department of Labor and she also serves as the Field Operations Manager of all ten regional offices. As the Regional Administrator for Region VI, she has responsibility for Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and New Mexico.
The mission of the Bureau is to promote profitable employment opportunities for women, to empower them by enhancing their skills and improving their working conditions, and to provide employers with more alternatives to meet their labor needs by advocating for equitable employment standards, policies, and programs.
Ms. Lyle’s work experience spans some thirty plus years and includes working in Corporate America, non-profits, state and local government and owning her own business. Her most recent employment prior to joining the Women’s Bureau in 1999 was with Bank of America as a Senior Vice President in the Community Development Banking Group.
She received a certification in Mediation and Conflict Management from the Justice Center of Atlanta. She is also certified as a Facilitator by the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. In 2001, Ms Lyle completed the Intensive Spanish Executive Program at the Center for Bilingual Multicultural Studies, Universidad Internacional, Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. In 2005, she completed the Senior Executive Fellows Program at Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government.
She has served on numerous boards and received many honors at both a local and national level.
She is a member of the Dallas Women’s Council, The Links, Incorporated, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and a 2000 graduate of Leadership Texas.
